The Opportunity

Lead the financial operations and strategy of a homebuilding division, guiding business planning, ensuring financial integrity, and supporting sustainable growth within a dynamic organization. This is a high-impact leadership role that partners directly with the Division President to shape business strategy and maximize profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop divisional business plans, budgets, forecasts, and quarterly updates.
  • Oversee the accuracy of accounting and internal financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Safeguard divisional assets, administering purchasing and contracts functions.
  • Advise the Division President and executive leadership, supporting strategic decision-making and financial performance.
  • Identify profit opportunities and spearhead initiatives to maximize growth, profit, and capital return.
  • Drive cost containment and implement best practices to achieve division goals.
  • Proactively communicate material financial changes to leadership and recommend improvements to internal reporting.
  • Ensure alignment with company operational models and systems.
  • Participate in land acquisition, ensuring the pipeline supports division growth objectives with minimal risk to the Division’s budget.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Active CPA license, or willingness to obtain one, preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance and public accounting within the homebuilding or related industry.
  • Prior executive-level finance or accounting roles in publicly traded organizations.
  • Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, capable of explaining complex concepts clearly.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within teams and across disciplines.
  • Experience in conflict and change management.
  • Proven business acumen and strategic vision.
  • Demonstrated leadership, with a record of driving results and motivating teams.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. 
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to move about work location.
  • Ability to drive/travel as needed.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs.
  • Ability to observe details at close range and communicate information so others will understand.
  • Ability to transport and move up to 20 lbs and move as needed (for roles in Construction/Customer Service/IT/Land/Marketing/Sales/Studio).   
  • Periodically works in outdoor weather conditions (for roles in Construction/Customer Service/Land/Sales).
  • Position is located on-site at the division office. #LI-onsite

Compensation Details and Benefits

KB Home offers a competitive base pay. The expected base pay range for this position is based on experience and is noted below, paid semi-monthly.  Other rewards may include bonuses or role-specific awards.

KB Home provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, sick time and vacation.

Pay Range

USD $175,000.00 - USD $200,000.00 /Yr.
