The Opportunity

As a Purchasing Coordinator, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of our Purchasing department. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external trade partners to manage documentation, coordinate vendor activities, and ensure timely processing of purchasing tasks. Play a key role in maintaining purchasing systems, facilitating communication, and providing support across the division to help drive operational efficiency and vendor performance. Your work will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality homes aligned with production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support purchasing activities by processing lot starts, late changes, and pricing contract requests within defined timelines.
  • Maintain and update community-specific options and selections in internal systems.
  • Support invoice coding, subcontractor billing, and reconciliation alongside Accounting and National Purchasing teams.
  • Generate and distribute purchasing reports tracking production starts, option selections, and vendor performance.
  • Coordinate vendor onboarding, including preparation, distribution, tracking of setup documents and insurance requirements and system access.
  • Serve as a liaison with vendors to handle questions, resolve issues, and ensure timely execution.
  • Order, track, and communicate updates regarding materials or services to relevant departments.
  • Support the Purchasing team with ensuring comprehensive list of options are offered. 
  • Assist in identifying all non-contracted options and obtaining costs from vendors if required. 
  • Maintain comprehensive purchasing documentation, lot files and provide system support for tools and platforms.
  • Deliver general administrative support, respond to field and construction team inquiries and assist in resolving purchasing process questions.
  • Complete additional assignments as needed to support overall departmental or divisional operations.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Accounting or Business Management degree is helpful but not necessary
  • Construction product and process knowledge helpful, Residential Purchasing and Contracting preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of General Office Organization, Contract Administration, Administrative Assistance experiences.
  • Ability to maintain the highest Ethical behavior
  • Self-motivated and able to work responsibly in a team environment
  • Work well with all people from all backgrounds
  • Ability to stay organized and manages priorities in an efficient manner
  • Possess strong negotiation skills and experience (Senior Coordinator)
  • Possess ability to develop strong negotiation skills (Coordinator)
  • Proficient in using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook {mandatory}
  • Exceptional communication skills necessary, both written and verbal
  • Detail oriented with good follow-up and follow-thru skills
  • Good people and problem-solving skills

  • Periodically works in outdoor weather conditions (for roles in Construction/Customer Service/Land/Sales)
  • Position located at the Division Office (enter address) #LI-onsite.
