Are you passionate about interior design, leadership, and delivering exceptional customer experiences? KB Home is seeking a Director of Design Studio to lead a talented team of Studio Design Consultants who guide homebuyers through the exciting selection process. In this role, you’ll do more than manage operations—you’ll inspire your team, ensure accuracy, and champion a customer-first approach that turns visions into reality.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Performance Optimization

  • Implements performance-enhancing procedures aligned with company objectives.
  • Translates financial metrics into actionable strategies for studio operations.
  • Drives sales process to achieve VC and margin goals, considering market position and pricing.
  • Ensures timely scheduling and completion of customer appointments.
  • Recruits, develops, and manages studio team performance.
  • Promotes a positive, high-performing work environment focused on CSI.
  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships for seamless collaboration.

Customer Champion

  • Leads CSI initiatives and reports results to senior leadership.
  • Resolves escalated customer issues promptly.
  • Ensures timely resolution of homebuyer concerns.

Product & Pricing Precision

  • Partners with teams to maintain accurate option pricing and availability.
  • Audits databases and plan listings for accuracy; reports discrepancies.
  • Benchmarks competitor pricing regularly.
  • Maintains studio merchandising per company standards.

Communication & Reporting

  • Provides weekly reports on key metrics (appointments, conversions, VC, CSI).
  • Facilitates New Community meetings and process updates with consultants/vendors.
  • Delivers clear product information and implementation strategies.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Retail management certifications/licenses a plus
  • Minimum 5 years proven retail or management experience at director level
  • Prior experience managing direct reports preferred
  • Homebuilding or related industry experience a plus
  • Strong background in delivering high-quality customer service programs
  • Knowledge of market, design, and industry trends
  • Demonstrated leadership in hiring, training, and developing teams
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships
  • Results-driven with strong sales closure skills
  • Customer-focused problem solver
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; able to simplify complex concepts
  • Skilled in leading training sessions and presentations
  • Collaborative team player, open to ideas and cooperation
  • Decisive, data-driven decision-making
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Requirements

  • Work 8-hour days with flexibility for additional work hours when necessary.
  • Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to potential buyers, trade partners, and coworkers to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the company.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. 
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to move about work location.
  • Ability to drive/travel throughout the designated area to construction sites as needed.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs.
  • Ability to observe details at close range and communicate information so others will understand.
  • Ability to transport and move up to 20 lbs and move as needed (for roles in Construction/Customer Service/IT/Land/Marketing/Sales/Studio).   
  • Periodically works in outdoor weather conditions (for roles in Construction/Customer Service/Land/Sales).
  • Maintain a professional and ethical conduct to reinforce company goodwill and profitability.
  • Position located at the Division Office. #LI-onsite.

Compensation Details and Benefits

KB Home offers a competitive base pay. The expected range for this position is based on experience and is noted below, paid semi-monthly. 

Other rewards may include bonuses or role-specific awards.

KB Home provides a variety of benefits to employees, including Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance; 401K Plan with Company match (vesting percentage based on years of service); Paid Time Off - vacation (10-20 days per calendar year based on years of service), sick leave, bereavement leave (3-5 days), jury duty (up to 5 days), and paid holidays (11 per year), Life Insurance, business travel accident, optional insurance (paid by employee) for disability, supplemental life, AD&D, and critical illness; Monthly mobile phone stipend; Optional Flexible Spending Accounts for health care and dependent care.

Pay Range

USD $135,000.00 - USD $145,000.00 /Yr.
