The Opportunity

As Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the VP of Finance with strategic planning, forecasting, and financial analysis. You’ll oversee the work of financial analysts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with divisional goals. Your insights will help guide critical business decisions and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing the Divisional Annual Business Plan and Quarterly Forecasts.
  • Lead forecasting of asset performance and financial projections.
  • Coordinate and review quarterly Asset Gross Margin Analysis (MAMs/GMAs).
  • Analyze base pricing, option allowances, lot costs, and model expenses.
  • Set option revenue/costs using historical data and showroom input.
  • Review closing costs, broker co-op fees, internal commissions, and sales allowances.
  • Maintain and update Monthly Operating Forecast Comparison and Post Acquisition Review schedules.
  • Oversee weekly/monthly reporting, backlog reviews, and community pricing worksheets.
  • Prepare monthly cash flow projections and support land acquisition analysis.
  • Review marketing and purchasing budget updates, monthly accruals, and reclassifications.
  • Provide financial data for national accounting team, including non-routine accruals.
  • Conduct fixed cost analysis and present budget comparisons to department leaders.
  • Perform budget trend analysis to support departmental planning.
  • Prepare financial documentation for 10K, tax schedules, Quarterly Flash, and IRR reviews.
  • Manage and mentor financial department personnel, providing training and performance oversight.
  • Monitor workloads and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support internal audits, commission reviews, and new community pricing evaluations.
  • Review and monitor expense reports for proper coding.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • 3–6 years in public accounting or finance/accounting within the construction industry (preferred).
  • Strong financial and accounting expertise with advanced analytical skills.
  • Strong Excel skills required.
  • Proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.

Requirements

  • Must work 8-hour days (during core business hours) with flexibility for longer hours as needed
  • Must conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to potential buyers, external business associates and coworkers to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the company.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. 
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to move about work location.
  • Ability to drive/travel throughout the designated area to construction sites as needed.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs.
  • Ability to observe details at close range and communicate information so others will understand.
  • Ability to transport and move up to 20 lbs and move as needed (for roles in Construction/Customer Service/IT/Land/Marketing/Sales/Studio).   
  • Periodically works in outdoor weather conditions (for roles in Construction/Customer Service/Land/Sales).
  • Maintain a professional and ethical conduct to reinforce company goodwill and profitability.
  • Position located at the Division Office #LI-onsite.

Compensation Details and Benefits

KB Home offers a competitive base pay. The expected range for this position is based on experience and is noted below, paid semi-monthly. 

Other rewards may include bonuses or role-specific awards.

Pay Range

USD $110,000.00 - USD $125,000.00 /Yr.
